My Southern I Do's - Wedding Reception Details

You have gotten to seen a few glimpses into my wedding reception with the cocktail hour, flowers, dessert table, etc but just wanted to share a final few things that I loved!!

The Venue

The Cotton Docks at Boone Hall Plantation are extremely rustic, but perfect for the look/feel we wanted for our wedding. We hung Edison lights from the wood rafters for lighting and ambience. We also did a combination of farm tables and square tables. I liked how it we were able to also seat different numbers of people at tables.

My Pinterest Inspiration:

And my wedding:

We loved this big fireplace, and we definitely did not need to use it at our wedding. But we filled the fireplace with tons of candles and flowers. It looked so pretty and this picture doesn't really do it justice. The monogram moss S was actually borrowed from my sister-in-laws wedding. My in-laws also made the white S monograms that hung on each side of the fireplace. They cut them out and then painted them crackle white.

On the walls in between all of the windows we bought frames at Michael's and then my in-laws made them into bulletin boards and covered the picture portion with burlap. We hung a few of our
engagement photos on the walls.

We also re-used our Southern Nest monogram from the ceremony and moved it to the reception and hung it on the back wall. We used burlap ribbon to hang it.

In the windows we hung mason jars with babies breath which I thought looked so cute. We also had candles in mason jars in the windows as well! I had seen this a few ways done differently on Pinterest like hanging from the rafters
But decided that was too much for my wedding, so I tweaked the idea an had them hanging from the windows.

Tables
My tables were inspired by this pin! Loved the simplicity of the flowers and tables. But they still gave the room a rustic ambiance.

For my wedding, my mother-in-law made all of the burlap runners, and Tiger Lily put together all the flowers and candles. On the bride and groom table we had a burlap runner with our monogram on it. Unfortunately our photographer didn't get any pictures of the runner and head table!

My goal was to have my flowers look like I just picked them from the garden! Hamby Catering provided the burlap bags for the silverware. My step-father made the table numbers. And then I printed the menu cards and thank you cards from wedding chicks.

And on the back of the bride and groom chair I made these signs from Paper Source. They were actually from the same set I used to make our dessert table sign as well!

Bathroom Signs

I ordered these adorable signs from Serenity Now Studio on Etsy. Super easy to work with and quick turnaround. I found the burlap frames at TJ Maxx!!

Exit

At the end of the night our caterers turned the signature drink table into a place for guests to sign our guest book if they hadn't done so earlier.

These are just a few of the million pins I have on Pinterest that inspired my wedding. For more please check out my Pinterest Southern I Do's wedding board.  Follow my blog with Bloglovin

My Southern I Do's - Menus, Programs, Welcome Bags and More!!

Of course when I first started my wedding planning process I thought my invitation person (who was amazing by the way) would also do all of my other wedding printing (menu cards, programs, itineraries, etc!). Well that was until I saw the cost and decided to seek out some other options to help manage my budget. Luckily Pinterest was there to the rescue for some amazing ideas that I was able to recreate!

These are a picture of my invitations and a sample of the calligraphy we used on our envelopes!

Since we were doing a destination wedding in Charleston we decided to do welcome bags for our guests, we filled them with some of our favorite items in case they got hungry or thirsty during their stay. Additionally, we created itineraries for the guests and wedding party so they would have all the information they would need for the weekend. We working with the amazing talented Sara from Simply Modern Design as well as an AMAZING site called WeddingChicks.com where we were able to download and customize free monograms. I forgot to mention we also ordered a ton of koozies for our guests from Rook Design Company that I found on Etsy. We included them in the welcome bags as well as the wedding. Charleston is hot so we wanted to make sure everyone had cool drinks. I saw a few pictures on Pinterest and had to recreate!!

Here is what our welcome bags looked like! If you can't tell I am slightly obsessed with our monogram and printed it on anything I could put a sticker on!!  Each guest in the welcome bag received pain reliever in case they had one too many adult beverages, Benne Wafers (we are in the south after all, nuts, chips, crackers, water, Cheerwine, his and hers nips, gum, mints, and more.

I also used my monogram from Weddingchicks.com! I told you I was slightly obsessed with monograms!! I made really cute bathroom baskets (didn't get a picture of those!), bug spray basket signs, flip flops for guests, wrapping bridesmaid presents, and even snack bags for guests to take some munchies home!!

On Pinterest, I saw these amazing programs. If you know my husband's personality you would understand why these would be so perfect for our wedding.

I was searching on Etsy and found an amazingly talented graphic designer Sara from Simply Modern Design. After sending her some Pinterest pins of ideas that I liked she designed these amazing programs for our wedding. They definitely describe our personalities and the laid back vibe we wanted to have at our wedding. The back of the program included information about the wedding party and a thank you from the bride and groom for traveling to our wedding.

To display the programs my in-laws found shutters at Lowe's on clearance and crackle painted them to hold the programs at our wedding. Below please find my Pinterest inspiration as well as how they looked displayed at our wedding. Not to mention it kept the programs in place and they weren't blowing around the gardens! Our Wedding:

For Menu Cards and Thank You notes for guests it was WeddingChicks.com to the rescue. They have free printable invitation suites where you pick your colors, enter in your information, and VOILA you have menu cards and thank you notes. What I loved about them was how simple it was to create. I then went to Michael's craft store and bought 5x7 stock paper to print everything out. I also found these adorable clothes pins at Paper Source that I had to have and used them to hold the menu cards together for guests. Photo Credit Rickiford.com.

My wedding: Of course some of these little details we didn't get pictures of!! But I bought chevron snack bags on the knot.com and added our monogram. Our bathroom baskets had a little sign that said had a little poem about fixing the hair and glossing the lips but to hurry fast and get back on the dance floor.
